Meet Me

silly green blog

Hey there!  I’m so glad you dropped by for a visit!  I am having so much fun writing about my “adventures” and sharing them with you.  This blog started as a way to keep others updated on our homeschooling, but it has also become something I really love!  It’s a little creative outlet for me, and I’m not even sure if any one else really reads it!  🙂  Ha ha!

So more about me… I am a wife and mom on the mission field!  Whew!  The mission field is my home!  I think God has placed my most important ministry right here in my lap… Literally- in my lap!  With four children all born within four years of each other, I don’t have much time for anything else!  I think the best way that I can serve the Lord now is to raise my children in the fear and admonition of Him!  I am teaching them each day (trying hard to anyway) to glorify and honor Him in each choice they make and each word they say.  I am so very thankful the Lord has given me the privilege of working for Him in this way!

My days are spent like most other homemakers’ days… the usual cooking, cleaning, folding, teaching, bandaging, bathing, disciplining, discipling, reading, playing, …  I love this ordinary life!  The Lord is doing extraordinary things!

A glimpse at my life…smiles, frogs, trains, laughs, PJ’s, picnics, pillows, family! 🙂

Farm, His Word, swings, casts…

Did I mention crumbs (!!!), cookies, milk, spills, giggles, boo-boos, tears, Legos, hugs, crayons, baby dolls, dirt … love!

I would say the very best part about living this life and doing these every day things, is that I get to do it all with my best friend!  I am so thankful to have such an amazing, wise husband to hold my hand through it all!  He’s also a joker- with me, anyway!  See….

I guess you could say I’m a little “artsy-fartsy”- yes, I just said that! 🙂  I enjoy creating, painting, cooking, drawing, and making!!  My friends expect a hand painted Christmas card from me each year and a cute snack on birthdays or holidays.  I love projects, and I love, love, love making our house a home!

(some of our Christmas cards, The Cat in the Hat hats and green eggs, Lego cookies, letter X snack – x-ray cookies)

I have a real love for teaching, and I was a First Grade teacher for 3 years before staying home to have a family.  Now I get to do what I love with those I love!  I am so excited about homeschooling my children!  I will keep sharing our adventures with you!

Much love-

My stepmom, diane britton, gave me the address for your blog a while back. I don’t do Facebook etc but for some reason I kept the address. I have a tiny bit of “me” time tonight & somehow found my way to your blog. Isn’t it funny how busy moms won’t use their “me time” for truly non-mommy things!!! I will admit that at first I thought– “wow, she’s a little overboard w/organization, etc”. Then I realized why Diane gave me the address….Im just like you!!!! I am every bit the organizational queen & devoted mom as you appear to be. I have not had a lot of time to review your blog but hope to check back over time. I have a daughter who turns 2 next week. I love my job as a mom & work part time. I struggle like many moms to not complain about the stress of life. Hats off to you. Im sure you have your own moments but you appear to being doing an amazing job. 4 kids spaced so close, home school, this blog. Wow. I hope to find time to check back in & take more advantage of the great resources you share. And I have a few friends who would gain a lot from this as well. Glad you found a creative outlet for yourself that helps others.—Cissy (Britton) Wilmoth

Hi, Cissy! So neat to hear from you! It sounds like things have changed a lot for both of us since the days we walked the halls of West Jr High! 🙂 Ha ha! I was able to keep up with you a little better when DC was helping me with the kids in the summers… until she graduated {sigh}!! She told me all about your sweet little girl! Congrats! Thank you SO much for your encouragement! It means a lot, and I never get comments 🙂 Keep in touch!

That is such a sweet comment! Made my day! I’m following your blog, and I think reading Christian fiction sounds super fun!! If you only had time to read ONE book, which would it be?! 🙂

I’m glad 🙂 Yeah, it definatley is, however there are a heap of books to choose from! If I had to recommend any book… hmmmm, I think it would have to be A Simple Mistake by Andrea Grigg. However books from Colleen Coble and Denise Hunter are ones that also can’t be missed!! 🙂

    Dear SSW–
Blessings to you and many thanks for the follow! We just followed you back. I’m looking so forward to reading more of your beautiful words about God and family. I’m also passing your link on to a dear friend…we were just talking last night about our amazing ministries….of home and family. So good to read of that elsewhere!

Do you know, I was looking at your anniversary photos yesterday….and you live in a gorgeous part of the country! I was born and raised in the TX Panhandle and those cotton fields and land as far as you can see in your photos just warmed my heart. God’s creativity on view yet again!

We serve an awesome God indeed! I am amazed every day at His handiwork! I lived just a few miles from here– in the city– my whole life and never knew what I was missing until I got married and moved to the farm. It is beautiful!

Your page is beautiful! I love what you are doing for your family. I am a teacher and I appreciate parents who are fully invested in their families!

Thanks so much for coming by my blog and following. I’ll be doing the same! I don’t have kids (yet, we are trying!), but you have so many wonderful things here – ones, I am sure I’ll need in the future! And I LOVE lists and organization, too!!! 🙂

Thanks! Don’t you love those little nuggets of time when you get to sit and look for a bit?! 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoyed something here! I really like your blog, too! I’ve tried to make training more “fun” this week! Thank you!

I found you through a visit to one of my blogposts. We have much in common, although our children are a bit more spaced out (with the exception of our twins). 🙂 Nice to “meet” you.

Yes! I thought the same thing when I visited your blog! You are right, mine are pretty squished together! 😉 Ha ha! We just had birthdays and my little twinnies are 5! The older kids are 8 and 9. Nice to meet you, too! I look forward to following along. 🙂
