Homeschool Day at the Capitol

Homeschoolers from across Arkansas gathered at our State Capitol in Little Rock yesterday for a day of education and fun!  We explored our beautiful Capitol Building, met elected officials, and observed floor debates from the Senate gallery.  Our legislators were such gracious hosts! 🙂  One gave us a tour and another led us onto the busy Senate floor just before Session!  It was a unique and memorable experience for our children.

Usually, the farmers (Dad and Lev) only wear ties on Sundays! However, this was a special day, so boots off and suits on!

Of course, we found Capitol Cafe for a snack! Dad explains how a bill becomes a law.

Before leaving Little Rock, we visited the Justice Building.  We were able to see a portrait of Charles’s grandfather who was once Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court.

It was a busy day.  The kiddos were pretty tired after a long drive and a lot of walking.  Maybe I need to add more P.E. to our curriculum!?

What a wonderful day – so much to learn. I know they were so very proud to learn more about their great grandfather….. what a legacy !
