The Call of Abram Activities {fun on Abraham’s Journey}

“We are going on a journey today!” I told the kids after our morning Bible time.

“Really?!  Where are we going, Mom?”

“Hmmm…. I’m not sure.”

“What?  No really, Mom, where are going??”

“I just don’t know.”

“Mom, please tell us!!  Please!!”

“I don’t know where we are going!”

It didn’t take long for the big kids to figure out what I was up to because we had been studying the call of Abram!  🙂  Using our Veritas Press Old Testament / Ancient Egypt history, our week focused on Abram, trusting God and leaving his home without knowing where he would go or where he would land. We took a journey through our house without knowing where we would come to rest.

We made trail mix to take on our trip!

We packed up and moved camp several different times. Whew! I couldn’t help but think about the difficulties of moving hundreds of people, animals, and supplies daily!

For copywork, we chose portions from Hebrews 11:8-10:

“And he went out, not knowing where he was going.  By faith he went…  For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God!”

Making memories together, studying God’s word, and eating trail mix with M&M’s…. it just doesn’t get much better than this!  🙂

    You are such a fun mom!!! We’re doing Moses and the Exodus, so maybe I’ll use some of your ideas when we learn about the Israelites wondering in the desert. Thanks for the idea 🙂
